CAER Food Shelf Volunteer Opportunities
Consider donating your time by applying for volunteer opportunities at CAER Food Shelf. Volunteers help out in a number of ways and are so important to the work we do.
Volunteer Opportunities
If you are interested in becoming a volunteer, we would love to have you as part of our team.
- Volunteer opportunities at CAER are open to anyone 18 and older.
- Many of the volunteer jobs are physically demanding and require the ability to stand, bend, and lift (sometimes 20 pounds or more); and possibly go outside, even in the winter. Please let us know of any physical limitations when applying, and we can accommodate.
- We would prefer candidates who can commit to volunteering 2-4 shifts per month, though there is no minimum requirement.

Volunteer Guidelines
We ask that all volunteers adhere to a few guidelines to ensure a safe and comfortable working environment as well as privacy protection.
Volunteer Dress Code
As a volunteer, we want you to be comfortable and safe in the environment at CAER.
- Wear comfortable clothing—no short shorts, short skirts/dresses, or tank tops.
- Closed-toe shoes are required in the warehouse and shopping areas.
- Please refrain from wearing clothing that depicts offensive material, such as foul language, nudity, or drugs.
Confidentiality
CAER works with some sensitive information, and we require that information to remain private. Any details concerning clients, staff, financial data, business records, or employees are strictly confidential.
